Positive affirmations are important to recognize because it is very easy to get caught up in the negative.
We either don’t know or we simply don’t acknowledge what we like about ourselves. Sometimes we even find ourselves justifying why we shouldn’t like these things.
I want you to remember that God created us in His image, and you are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made. So, before you go dismissing these things about you that make you stand out beautifully, remember that you are quite literally a masterpiece.
What are positive affirmations?
The word affirmation means: the assertion that something exists or is true. A statement or proposition that is declared to be true.
Positive affirmations are statements that we say to ourselves to uplift and declare good in our lives. Statements that are designed to rewire and counteract the negative thoughts running around in our brains. They are meant to improve our attitudes and our mental health. Positive affirmations are also very important when it comes to reaching our goals. Some goals that we have for ourselves are not easy nor are they always our favorite pastime. When we boldly affirm ourselves, it gives us some of our confidence back to complete the necessary tasks.
Why are positive affirmations important?
Positive affirmations are a great way to open you up to the confidence that lives within you. The confidence that is just buried beneath a well of learned negative thoughts and behaviors.
There is a saying that goes: whether you think you can, you can. And if you think you can’t, you can’t. What you say matters! If you are constantly thinking negatively or internalizing those thoughts, that is how you will live your life. But if you speak power over your life and continuously remind yourself of your strength, your subconscious mind will believe them and eventually, they will become a part of your reality.
Every morning before you walk out the door for work, or wherever you have to go, tell yourself, out loud so that it can resonate:
- I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
- I am limitless.
- I can accomplish everything that I put my mind to.
- I am stronger than I give myself credit for.
- I am powerful beyond measure.
- I attract abundance into my life.
- Nothing will stop today from being a great day.
- I manifest great things.
- My finances are overflowing.
- I have love and good energy all around me.
- My faith is stronger than ever.
- I deserve to be happy.
There is power in the tongue, and if you are constantly speaking life and abundance over yourself, you really begin to believe those things. Eventually you will walk in them, which can ultimately guide you to your purpose.
That is something I can say we probably all want; to live abundantly and to walk in our purpose.
Challenge yourself!
Every day you wake up, or even before you go to bed at night, speak your positive affirmations out loud. Feel them with all of your emotions and let them settle in your spirit. It will be very easy to just say the words, but really try to believe them with your whole heart and body.
You got this!
